Making a book

A final review checklist before downloading your storybook

Review names, story logic, illustrations, privacy, and the downloaded PDF before reading or sharing an AI-generated personalized storybook.

A successful generation means a result was saved, not that the book is ready for every reader. Give the finished story a deliberate adult review before downloading and sharing. It helps to make separate passes for words, pictures, and privacy so a lovely illustration does not distract you from a confusing sentence.

First pass: names and story logic

Read the complete text in order, preferably aloud. Check the hero's name on the cover and inside the book, including any spelling or nickname you chose. Listen for sentences that are awkward to say, unexplained changes of place, and details that contradict earlier pages.

Return to the original goal. Does the hero actually finish what they set out to do? If the ending introduces an unrelated reward or a new problem, decide whether to simplify it. A small direct edit may be more useful than requesting a completely new story.

  • Names and pronouns match your intention.
  • Important objects do not disappear without explanation.
  • The sequence makes sense from beginning to ending.

Second pass: pictures and continuity

Look at each illustration beside its text. Check that the main action is recognizable and that important objects appear where the story needs them. Compare the character across pages for changes that could confuse the reader.

Inspect unexpected details rather than assuming the app has caught every issue. AI-generated faces, bodies, lettering, and backgrounds can contain mistakes. If you choose to request another generated image, check the cost and explain the most important change you need.

  • The cover belongs to this story and hero.
  • The text and picture describe compatible moments.
  • No detail makes the page unsuitable for the intended reader.

Third pass: privacy and how the story feels

Remove unnecessary identifying details such as a real school, address, or routine. Check that the story does not embarrass, label, or make uncomfortable assumptions about the person it resembles. Personalized does not have to mean a detailed account of real life.

Read the book with the intended audience in mind. A fictional character sharing a child's name can make a careless phrase feel more personal. The adult creator remains responsible for deciding what is appropriate before reading or sharing.

Finally, open the PDF you downloaded

After the final edits, download the book and open the actual file rather than relying only on the editor preview. Check the cover, page order, text readability, and ending on the device you plan to use. Make sure you are looking at the latest version.

Keep the final copy somewhere you can find again and share it only with the intended recipients. PDF export does not consume AI credits under the current rules. It also does not turn the book into a printed product or guarantee that another service can print it to a particular specification.
